An immersive environment that blends elements of a haunted house, choose-your-own-adventure, and jungle gym. When George R. R. Martin purchases a vacant bowling alley in an industrial neighborhood in Santa Fe and leases it to a 135-member group of artists renowned for creating elaborate interactive art installations, the result is bound to be spectacular. This is precisely the case with the House of Eternal Return.

The first permanent installation by the Meow Wolf art collective, House of Eternal Return, spans 20,000 square feet of fully explorable space centered around a full-size reproduction of a two-story Victorian house with a secret. According to the backstory, the house was once home to the Selig family, but then “something happened,” leading to the family’s disappearance and warping the nature of time and space.

Visitors are free to piece together the non-linear narrative on their own, exploring the family’s clothes, furnishings, books, and personal papers, and discovering cosmic portals hidden throughout the house. House of Eternal Return features 70 distinct interconnected spaces, including enchanted forest treehouses, a tiny Old West ranch powered by hamsters, luminescent caves, space-age corridors, mastodon skeleton xylophones, laser harps, and the study where Grandpa Selig worked to unravel a mind-boggling interdimensional conspiracy.

The space also includes a music venue called Fancy Town and Chimera, a non-profit center offering classes to children. Summer camps, after-school programs, and internships are all available on-site.

Open daily (except Tuesdays) with late-night admission available on Fridays and Saturdays. Be sure to allow yourself at least a couple of hours to explore the space at a relaxed pace! Although tickets are discounted if you arrive an hour before closing, it's better to experience the installation more leisurely.

Booking tickets online is highly recommended. A limited number of people are admitted at a time to prevent overcrowding, which means you could end up waiting in line for hours, especially in the summer heat, and might not be able to enter or have enough time to fully explore. By making an online reservation, you can choose an available time slot and significantly reduce your wait time compared to general admission.

There is a gift store and a small cafe on site. Meow Wolf also offers immersive experiences in Las Vegas and Colorado.
